Instructor Bio
Samuel Allen has over twenty-three years in the field of investigations for both public and private sectors. Sam has obtained several certifications in forensic and fire investigations. Formed partnerships with both Federal and State Law Enforcement Agencies, including the Bureau ofAlcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Louisiana State Police and State Fire Marshal’s Office to maximize the resources available for fire investigations. Sam has been involved in over 700 fire and explosion scene examinations.

Course
Objectives
This class is intended to cover the “basics” of fire investigation. It will be directed to those just getting into fire investigation. It will also serve as a “refresher” to those who may have more experience in fire investigation. This list will cover some of the topics thatwill be covered in this short course. · The use of NFPA 921 and NFPA1033 · Understanding fire behavior · Recognizing basic firepatterns · Recognizing the effects ofventilation · Examination of the firescene and determining the area of origin · Fire Cause Determination The student should bring along the 2017 Edition of NFPA 921 and NFPA 1033. The entire course will be presented using this reference material
