Instructor Bio
Vincent D'Angelo is a Member of a Las Vegas Nevada Police Department for over 22years currently working in counterterrorism. Held positions that included patrol, fusion liaison officer, terrorism liaison officer, community-oriented policing, drug abuse resistance education,(D.A.R.E) and a defensive tactics instructor. He Retired as a Cryptologic Technician Maintenance Chief Petty Officer, (CTMC) after 26 years with the United States Navy Reserve,(USNR). Deployed to many locations all over the world to include 3 times to the Middle East. Lead numerous vulnerabilities and hearability missions dealing with operational, signal, information, and communicationssecurity. As an individual augmentee operated as watch officer with expeditionary warfare, (EXW), mobile inshore undersea warfare unit, (MIUWU), escorting high valued assets in and out of Kuwait. Became one of the initial Navy service members, known as a plank owner, standing up Commander Task Force 56, a command overseeing explosive ordinance disposal, marine mammals, inshore boat units, mobile construction battalion and riverine forces. Served during the military operations of Desert Storm, IraqiFreedom and Enduring Freedom. Prior to becoming a police officer employed as a leading radar technician and operator for Ford Aerospace, Loral Aerospace and Lockheed Aerospace on the Airforce electronic training ranges located in Nevada. These ranges were part of the aircrew training for United States Air force as well as international military coalition partners and air crew participants. Vincent maintains a FAA Part 107 small unmanned aircraft system,(sUAS), certification. Actively involved in promoting counter drone training, enforcement, education as well as aiding in the development of techniques, tactics and procedures for local law enforcement, large open-air events, stadiums, and critical infrastructure.

Course
Objectives
Hear what first responders, can do while dealing with small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS), commonly called drones. Millions of drones are entering the airspace annually. These devices are a significant threat to manned and commercial aircraft, large open air events, dignitary visits, infrastructure as well as apotential nuisance and violation of privacy over homes, hotels, officesetc. Local law enforcement and private industry are not permitted to use current technology that jams or manipulates these drones.
- Learn what can be done to mitigate the problem through public education and proactive enforcement using available tools and laws.
- Learn about building relationships and sharing with drone detection technology companies potentiallyalready in or near your city or jurisdiction.
- Learn what local law enforcement and local courts can and have done while working closely with their district and city attorneys as well as the Federal Aviation Administration.
- Discuss using existing as well as new laws to address errant drone flights of the clueless, careless and criminal.
- Discuss dealing with the future of drones and being ahead of the problem.
