Instructor Bio
Colonel Christopher E. Brown is the CEO of LockDown Executives, LLC. Colonel Christopher Brown majored in Theological Studies at Hampton University. He graduated cum laude from the Mater Pastor Internship Program (MPIP) ministry school in Tampa, Florida. He also obtained criminal justice certifications in law enforcement, detention, judicial protection and FDLE instruction certification from Hillsborough Community College, Saint Petersburg College, and Saint Leo University. Colonel Brown service honorably in the United States Marine Corps in various leadership positions including squad leader, sergeant of arms, anti-terrorism unit team leader and Weapons Safety Survival Instructor (WSSI) in Quantico, Virginia. This is where the training of FBI and officer candidates were held. He retired from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in 2015, after serving 25 years. Colonel Brown was a member of four specialty teams within the agency, including TACT, SOT, CRIT, an Honor Guard Drill Master and was awarded with the Honorary SWAT Team Membership from the Saint Petersburg Police Department. During his tenure, he was presented with over 40 accommodations and awards for outstanding service from various agencies such as, Miami Dade Police Department and received several letters of appreciation from Hillsborough County Circuit Judges and jurors. Colonel Brown is a certified NRA (Firearm), Active Shooter, weapons retention, and marital arts defensive tactics instructor. He is also certified in executive security and protection. |

Course
Objectives
Honor Guard units provide the most visible and positive image for their department. The mere presence of the Honor Guard draws attention and raises the formality of the event. The Honor Guard is called upon to perform details that are both physically and emotionally draining and therefore, need the proper preparation/training for any event, from a parade to a full honors Line of Duty Death.
This Five-day course consisting of lecture and practical applications provides the student with detailed instruction of the duties and responsibilities of the Honor Guard. Students will actively participate in Basic Drill, Marching and Manual of Arms exercises. Students will also acquire multi-dimensional perspectives of planning and implementing full honors in the Line of Duty Death (LODD) Funeral and ceremonies and participate in a mock LODD. The overall goal of this school is to share best practices among the Honor Guard Units in attendance.
Objectives:
Training, education and experience in proper protocol when performing ceremonial functions honoring the National, State, Local and Departmental Colors, including presentation and folding.
Training, education and experience of proper commands and movements of basic drill, marching and ceremony.
Training, education and experience for in the line of duty death funeral preparation and protocols.
Insight and information to officers and command staff in administration and management of their Honor Guard Unit.
