Course Objectives

Police leadership and management in today’s atmosphere has become increasingly challenging. Major generational differences within the ranks of law enforcement organizations are more apparent today than ever before. The vast percentage of law enforcement organizations are now comprised of Millennials. This has created personnel difficulties within organizations due to the disconnect between generations.   This cutting edge leadership course will undoubtedly provide unimaginable benefits to you and your organization. It challenges the status quo of public safety “leadership” which we have witnessed in the past; it will definitely provide a new prospective on how to better lead for the future.   This course is designed to provide perspectives and tools to any public safety professional, at any level of leadership, to better lead those of today. The course is also designed to incite interaction and encourage real-life challenges from the attendees. The main principles and topics of discussion include: identifying and understanding the Millennial Generation, challenges of today’s incoming generation, servant leadership, recruitment, power of influence, retention and creating a unified vision. The course also focuses on the power of empowerment, training / mentorship, and strategic planning to build a better organization for the future.   This course is open to all levels of public safety professionals, including police, fire, EMS, communications, corrections and civilian support.   The goal is to exceed each participant’s expectation by providing new and innovative leadership techniques and philosophies that can begin to be applied and implemented immediately upon the conclusion of the course.
